Vigilance Awareness Week inaugurated with Integrity Pledge-taking at GDC Vijaypur Department of Commerce and NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur inaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 by participating in the online integrity pledge administered by Hon’ble Chief Minister J&K Shri Omar Abdullah Ji on the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity”. Principal of the College along with all the faculty members, NSS volunteers and other college students participated in the pledge taking ceremony. The main aim of the celebrations perils of corruption inculcating the true spirit of participative vigilance and re-affirming the commitment of everyone to uphold integrity in public governance, with special emphasis on engaging the college youth-the future of India, in various activities emphasizing the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A poster making competition was also organized on the occasion to spread awareness among the students also in which Shriya Langeh of B. Com. Sem. V bagged first position; Tanvi Saini of B.Com. sem. V and Reshik Mehra of B.Com. sem. III shared second position; Shariya Sharma and Meenakshi both of B.Com. sem. V shared third position. Competition was adjudicated by Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science) and Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology). While speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta articulated that bringing transparency and accountability in governance remains one of the primary means to achieve all round development of the nation. Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), said that awareness must be spread regarding the threats associated with corruption so that we achieve an utopian society free from all corrupt practices. Whole of the event was organized under the able guidance of the Principal of the college. The event was coordinated by Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convenor, Cultural Committee and HOD Environmental Science), Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO and HOD English). Certificates were also given to the students who participated in the poster making competition.
