GDC Vijaypur celebrates Teacher’s Day to commemorate birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President of India who went on to become the second president of India. The event commenced with the lightening of lamp by the Principal and teachers of the college. The aim of the event was to honor all the teachers of the college including Principal of the college for their contribution in molding the lives of the students for a better future. The day was celebrated by organising a series of cultural programmes. Students of the college participated in the programmes with great enthusiasm, zeal and fervor. Mehak and Shruti of BA Semester V carried the proceedings of the programme. Students actively participated in various cultural programmes like singing, dance, mimicry etc. Students shared their views and thoughts on Teachers Day. The whole event was conducted under the able guidance of the worthy Principal Dr. Vandana Verma. In her address to the students and teachers of the college she said that the day is celebrated every year on 5 th of September to remember Dr. S. Radhakrishnan who was a great scholar, philosopher, Bharat Ratna Awardee, a highly respected teacher and prolific statesman. She further instructed all the teachers to guide students not in just their academic endeavor but for the overall development of the students.She also congratulated the organising team for organising such an event.It ended with the cutting of cake by the Princial, staff and students of the college. Programme was organized with the support of senior faculty members- Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science), Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce) and Dr. Anoop Bhagat (HOD Dogri). Programme was Coordinated by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences) and co-coordinated by Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri). Refreshment was distributed among all the participants.
