GDC Vijaypur organised Symposium on Voting is Everyone’s Right and We Must Vote During Elections Department of Sociology in collaboration with NSS unit of Government Degree College Vijaypur under the banner of Voting Awareness Campaign organised a symposium on the theme, “Voting is Everyone’s Right and We Must Vote During Elections” under the supervision and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta, Principal of the college The main objective of the event was to increase the enrolment of the voters, especially the eligible ones and was to create awareness among the students about their voting rights and how they can enrol themselves in the voter list. More than 15 college students participated in the activity with great enthusiasm, fervour and zeal. The event commenced with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Anoop Kumar Bhagat, HOD Sociology. He briefed the students about the importance of voting in a democracy and explained in detail how to register in the electoral rolls through online mode and also enlightened the students about the history of election commission of India. The terms and conditions of the competition were informed by Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo, Lecturer, Department of Sociology. The certificate of appreciation was given to all the participants. The refreshment was also distributed to all the participants. The event was coordinated by Dr Anoop Kumar Bhagat (Convenor) and co- cordinated by Prof. Ritu Bhagat, Dr. Manoj Heer, Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS), Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo, Dr. Radhika Rasyal and Dr. Neelam Kumari.
