Report on Teachers Day celebrations Day 1 activity Dated :05-09-2022 : GDC Vijaypur celebrates Teachers Day to commemorate birth anniversary of Dr. SarvepalliRadhakrishnan, the first Vice President of India who went on to become the second president of India. The event commenced with the lightening of lamp by the Principal and teachers of the college. The aim of the event was to honor all the teachers of the college including Principal of the college for their contribution in molding the lives of the students for a better future.The day was celebrated by organising a series of cultural programmes. Students of the college participated in the programmes with great enthusiasm, zeal and fervor. The eventcommenced with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convenor Cultural Committee). It was followed by a formal introduction to the day by Ms. Ritika Thakur and Mr. Haroon Malik of semester IV and semester II respectively who later on carried the proceedings of the programme.Students actively participated in various cultural programmes like singing, dance, mimicry etc. A seminar was also held where students shared their views and thoughts on Teachers Day and why it is celebrated. The whole event was conducted under the able guidance of the worthy Principal Dr. Vandana Gupta. In her address to the students and teachers of the college she said that the day is celebrated every year on 5th of September to remember Dr. S. Radhakrishnan who was a great scholar, philosopher, Bharat Ratna Awardee, a highly respected teacher and prolific statesman. She further instructed all the teachers to guide students not in just their academic endeavor but for the overall development of the students.She also congratulated the organising team for organising such an event.It ended with the cutting of cake by the Princial, staff and students of the college. Formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English). Refreshment was distributed among all the participants.
