Panel Discussion On The Theme “Role Of Teacher In Education”

GDC Vijaypur celebrates Teachers Day by organising a panel discussion on the theme “Role of teacher in Education” to commemorate birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radha krishnan, the first Vice President of India who went on to become the second president of India. The event commenced with the introduction of the event by Prof. Priyanka Ganjoo (Head, Department of Sociology). The aim of the event was to make students aware of the role of teachers in shaping the life of a student. Students of the college participated in the programmes with great enthusiasm, zeal and fervor. The event commenced with the welcome address by Prof. Shittal Sharma (Convener, NSS Committee). She apprised the students of the rules and regulations of the panel discussion. There were two teams: Team A and Team B where students discussed various views and shared their thoughts on the role of teachers both in academic as well as in non-academic arena. It was followed by a healthy and constructive discussion between both the teams. The whole event was conducted under the able guidance of the worthy Principal Dr. Vandana Gupta. In her address to the students she wished both the teams’ good luck for discussion and also apprised students on the importance of the said day i.e. Teachers Day celebrated every year on 5th of September to pay homage to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan who was a great scholar, philosopher, Bharat Ratna Awardee, a highly respected teacher and prolific statesman. She congratulated all the students who participated in the discussion for taking part in the event and also applauded the efforts of the organising team for organising such an event which can prove beneficial for the development of the students. Proceedings of the event were carried out by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Cultural Committee). Formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English). Refreshment was distributed among all the participants.
