Govt. Degree College Vijaypur Organizes Mega Plantation And Cleanliness Drive

As a part of the series of program being organized under the banner of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ a nationwide campaign, ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’, ‘G20’ and ‘Shikshit Bharat’, the NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) and Eco Club (GREEN WARRIORS) of GDC Vijaypur today organized a mega plantation (Vasudha Vandan) and cleanliness drive in and around college campus. On this mega Plantation drive 75 indigenous plant species of different varieties were slammed to make the college campus green and pollution free followed by cleaning of the campus to make it clean and green for the creation of Amrit Vatika. In a significant effort to contribute to environmental conservation and promote a greener tomorrow this drive was organized to nurture a sense of patriotism among the college students and NSS volunteers towards our soil- a land that witnessed martyrdom of many freedom fighters for the freedom of India. In this context, a tribute- ‘MATI ko NAMAN’ was paid to the rich Indian soil. NSS volunteers, Green warriors and students in large numbers actively participated in the plantation and cleanliness drive enthusiastically with great interest and zeal. Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the NSS Unit and Eco club. She said that together, we can build a greener, healthier, and more resilient future. She further articulated that it’s a testament to our commitment to safeguarding the environment and leaving a positive impact. The mega drive was organized by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor, NSS and IQAC), Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Eco-Club) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO). The refreshment was also distributed to the students during the drive.
