Govt. Degree College Vijaypur Organised Door To Door Cleanliness Awareness Drive

The NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Govt. Degree College, Vijaypur under ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign under the flagship banner of ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’, ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ and ‘Gandhi Jyanti Celebrations 2023’ organised door to door awareness campaign educating citizens regarding the importance and health benefits of cleanliness. NSS volunteers, students and staff of the college actively participated in the campaign drive with great enthusiasm and fervour. The cleanliness drive and campaign which was launched by the Principal, Dr.Vandana Gupta, in the college campus was extended to various localities in Samba and Jammu districts. Volunteers collected plastic, polythene, and other waste materials from their surrounding areas and disposed of them properly. The drive witnessed the active participation of more than fifty volunteers who were dedicated to making their surroundings cleaner and plastic-free. During door-to-door campaign and cleanup drive, volunteers diligently collected plastic and polythene waste from the designated areas and disposed of them properly. The event culminated with the Swachhta pledge taken by every student and staff of the college. The entire initiative was carried out under the patronage of Principal Dr.Vandana Gupta and the supervision of NSS PO, Dr.NaseemChowdhary, and NSS Convenor, Dr.Shittal Sharma. The campaign was coordinated byProf. Poonam Kundan, Convenor EcoClub. The campaign showcased the commitment of GDC Vijaypur’s NSS volunteers to promoting cleanliness and hygiene both on campus and in and around the residence of the students and staff members.
