Government Degree College Vijaypur pledged against Drug Abuse NSS Unit of Government Degree Vijaypur under the flagship banner of “Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan” organized an Anti-Drug pledge taking event. Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta administered an anti-drug pledge among the students and staff including teaching and non-teaching of the college to not indulge in substance abuse. In order to raise awareness among the students, a function was organized in the college campus today to let students know the ill-effects of drug abuse. Principal of the college before administering the pledge highlighted the role of women and youth in curbing the menace, consumption and trafficking of narcotics. She urged the students to pledge that they would not indulge in substance abuse and create awareness among masses against falling prey to drug use. The event was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta Principal of the college. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college urged students to inform people residing nearby college about bad and drastic consequences of drug abuse. NSS Volunteers and other students participated in the event actively with great enthusiasm. The event was organized by Dr. Shittal Sharma, Head Department of Mathematics and Prof. Poonam Kundan, Head Department of Environmental Sciences. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, NSS PO.
