Government Degree College Vijaypur Celebrates Khadi Mahotsav

NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College, Vijaypur in collaboration with IQAC of the college under the flagship banner of Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and Meri Matti Mera Desh organized a slogan writing event on the theme “Khadi for Atma Nirbhar Bharat”. The aim of the event was to promote khadi, handloom, handicraft, village industries and other local products to bolster self-reliance and independence in local masses. NSS volunteers of the college participated in the slogan writing event with great enthusiasm and fervor by writing vital and innovative slogans promoting Khadi. Whole of the event was organized under the able guidance of the Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Gupta.While speaking on the occasion, she articulated that Khadi Mahotsav is aimed at sensitizing citizens, particularly students and youth, to make them aware of the importance of local produce like khadi and handloom for our economy, ecology, women empowerment and to encourage them to promote and adopt them. The event was coordinated by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convenor Cultural Committee) and co-coordinated by Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo (Lecturer Sociology) and Dr. Radhika Rasyal (Lecturer History).
