GDC Vijaypur Organizes Special Lecture On Cleanliness And Hygiene.

To generate awareness among the students and general masses regarding cleanliness and hygiene, a Special Lecture on the theme "Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhta" was organized by the NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) and Eco-Club of Government Degree College Vijaypur. NSS volunteers, Green warriors and other college students participated in the lecture with great enthusiasm, zeal and fervor. The resource person Prof. Poonam Kundan, Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, GDC Vijaypur in her lecture stated that Swachhata Pakhwada/Campaign is an initiative by the Indian government to promote cleanliness and sanitation across various sectors of society. This campaign aims to instill a sense of responsibility towards cleanliness and hygiene among the citizens. She motivated the students to conduct community clean-up drives in public places, offices, religious places, water bodies etc. The students/citizens should focus on sustainable practices that contribute to long-term cleanliness and environmental protection. She also advised the students for prompting waste management practices, including segregation of waste, recycling and composting. Principal of the college, Dr. (Prof.) Vandana Verma while speaking on the occasion stated that a clean nation is a healthy nation. We should stop whining and start cleaning our environment. It is never late, let’s clean our surroundings and make India great. To get a clean and healthy nation we should develop healthy habit of cleanliness and hygiene in our lives. The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Ecoclub) and Dr. Naseem Choudhary (NSS PO), and co-coordinated by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (Convener, NSS) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD, Geography).
