GDC Vijaypur Organizes Slogan-Writing Competition To Commemorate Vigilance Awareness Week

Cyber Jagrookta Committee of GDC Vijaypur in collaboration with IQAC and NSS unit of the college organised slogan-writing competition on the theme “Say no to corruption; commit to Nation” to celebrate Vigilance Awareness Week 2023. The objective of organizing the competition was to make students aware of corruption in different sectors/institutions and various means to eradicate it. Students of the college participated in the event enthusiastically with great fervor and zeal. The programme started with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener Cyber Jagrookta Committee) where she briefed the students regarding the slogan writing competition and emphasizing the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week. While speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta articulated that corruption occurs when an entrusted entity absuses its position of power for its own benefit and it comes in many forms including bribes, double-dealing, frauds by individuals etc. A general distinction, she said, has to be drawn between preventive measure and reactive measure to curb corruption. In the competition, first position was achieved by Manvi Sharma of B.Sc. Sem III, Second position was attained by Mehak Sadotra of BA Sem III and third position was clinched by Rupaank Aryan of BA Sem III. The competition was adjudged by Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD, Political Science), Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education) and Naseem Choydhary (HOD English). The programme was coordinated by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (Convenor IQAC) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener Cyber Jagrookta Committee) and co-coordinated by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and Renuka Kundal (Lecturer, Political Science)
