GDC Vijaypur Organizes Slogan-Writing Competition To Commemorate Constitution Day Celebrations

In a resounding effort to foster a safe and welcoming academic environment and to commemorate Constitution Day, the Department of Political Science in collaboration with Anti-Ragging Committee of GDC Vijaypur and NSS Unit (KHIDMAT), organised an Anti-Ragging Slogan Competition on the theme “Anti-Ragging Laws” under the flagship banner of “My Constitution My Pride” guided by the unwavering vision of the Head Prof. Anita Jamwal. This initiative underscores the institution’s commitment to eradicate ragging and to cultivate healthy relationships among students. The slogan writing competition served as a platform for students to voice their thoughts against ragging creatively. Through impactful and thought-provoking slogans, participants conveyed the importance of a harmonious campus atmosphere that promotes respect, empathy, and a sense of camaraderie among all students. The competition invited young minds to come forward with their innovative ideas and compelling words to inspire change. The discerning eyes of Prof. Poonam Kundan, Convenor Anti-ragging Committee and Prof. Renuka Kundal, Lecturer, Department of Political Science, expertly assessed the entries. Principal of the College, while speaking on the occasion articulated that ragging is a crime because it affects an individual’s mental and physical health and it should not be propagated in college campus. She congratulated all the winners of the competition. The first place was bagged by Tanshu Gakhar of B.A. sem.V stood First, Iqra of B.A. sem.V secured the second place and the third place was shared by Manvi Sharma of B.Sc. Sem. III and Pallvi Sharma of B.A. sem.III. The students were also provided certificates for their endeavours. In the end, this competition visually captured the essence of a ragging-free campus. It exhibited students’ artistic talents by creating eye-catching displays that resonated with the emotions, reinforcing the message of unity and respect. The event was coordinated by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, NSS PO and Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo, Lecturer Sociology.
