GDC Vijaypur Organizes Pledge Taking Event On The Occasion Of 15th National Voters Day

In continuation to the series of activities being organized under Republic Day Celebrations 2025, the Department of Political Science, Government Degree College Vijaypur organized a pledge taking event to celebrate 15th National Voters Day. The program was organized under the able guidance and supervision of the esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta. Students and faculty members took the pledge and showed their commitment towards voting and in choosing their representatives for the upcoming elections. Pledge was administered by Dr. Sandeepa Kotwal to the students and faculty members of the college and the proceedings of the event were carried out by Dr. Anjana Raina. Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Verma briefed the first-time voters and college students to understand the value of their vote and exercise their right to franchise in a confident, comfortable and ethical manner. She further stated that voting and taking part in the electoral process is more than a right and it’s a responsibility that each citizen holds to select their leaders who are responsible enough to work for their people. Along with the pledge a speech on the voters rights was delivered by Sharda Devi and Mehak Sadotra of 6th semester, Department of Political Science. The event was carried out with full support of the senior faculty members Prof. Anita Jamwal Dr. Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology), Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education), Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences), Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Environmental Sciences), Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography). It was coordinated by Dr. Anjana Raina (Lecturer Political Science) and Dr. Sandeepa Kotwal (Lecturer Political Science).
