Fit India Movement Under The Banner Of Fit India Freedom Run 4.0

As a part of the series of program being organized under the banner of ‘Fit India Freedom Run 4.0’ a nationwide campaign, ‘Swatchh Baharat, Swasth Bharat’, ‘Gandhi Jyanti Celebrations 2023’and ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’, the NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur today organized the Swatchta Freedom Run (Plog Run) from college campus. NSS volunteers and faculty (both teaching as well as non-teaching) participated in the freedom run actively with great enthusiasm and fervor. The theme of the run ‘Fit India-Free India’ was a tribute to Mahatama Gandhi, father of the Nation. The main aim of the run was to make India healthy and fit. The freedom run was flagged off by Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Gupta, along with senior faculty members, Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science) and Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education). Principal of the College while speaking on the occasion briefed the students about the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and elaborated upon their formula of sound mind in the sound body which shows that youth is on the right track. She further articulated that this freedom run is actually an awareness event to aware students against the ill effects of ‘Drug Abuse’ and that they should keep themselves away from drugs by keeping themselves engaged in fitness activities. The freedom run was organized by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (Cordinator NSS), Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences) and co-coordinated by Prof. Anil Bhagat (HOD Commerce), Dr. Radhika Rasyal (Lecturer History) and Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo (Lecturer Sociology).
