Activities On World Aids Day

GDC Vijaypur in collaboration with jammu and kashmir aids control society and higher education department, j&k organizes series of activities on world aids day Red Ribbon Club of Govt. Degree College Vijaypur in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society and Higher Education Department, J&K organizes series of activities including ‘Poster Making Competition’, ‘Rangoli Competition’, ‘Extempore’ and ‘Short Story’ on the theme “Equalize: Achieving Equality to End HIV/AIDS”. The programme started with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Red Ribbon Club) where she briefed the participants regarding series of activities organised on this World AIDS Day and also focused on the importance of this day. Students of the college enthusiastically participated in various activities organised related to HIV/AIDS. In the Poster Making Competition first position was bagged byKanchan Sharma ofBA Sem V, second position was shared by Sheetal of BA Sem V and Sonia Sharma of BA Sem I, while the third position was achieved byShivam Kumar of BA Sem I. The competition was adjudged by Dr. Naseem Choudhary, Prof. Renuka Kundal and Prof. RenuMalhotra. In the Rangoli Competition first position was bagged by Meenakshi Bhagat of BA Sem I, second position was shared by RamnikKaur and Monika Charak both of Sem I, while the third position was achieved by Gitika Sharma of BA Sem I.The competition was adjudged by Dr. Shittal Sharma, Prof. Poonam Kundan and Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo In the Extempore Competition first position was bagged by TaniyaJamwal of BA Sem I, second position was secured by RiyaAttri by Sheetal of BA Sem I, while the third position was achieved by AsmaBibi of BA Sem I.The competition was adjudged by Prof. Sandhya Bhagatand Dr. BandhanaKhajuria and Prof. AditiAnthal. The best story teller competition was won by RupaankAaryan of Sem I. The competition was adjudged by Prof. Sonia Devi and Prof. Rakesh Sharma. The Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Guptacongratulated all the participants and winners of various activities in the competition and said that organising such type of awareness programmes on HIV/AIDS is the need of the hour. She further congratulated coordinator and members of Red Ribbon Club for organising series of programme on World AIDS Day. She also encouraged the students for making their best efforts to participate in such kind of programmes. The whole event was coordinated byProf. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Red Ribbon Club) and coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Renuka Kundal.Merit and participation certificates were awarded to all the participants. Mementos were awarded to the winners of the competition. Refreshment was also distributed at the end of the function.
