Debate Competition to Celebrate National Education Day Department of Education of Government Degree College Vijaypur organized Debate Competition to celebrate National Education Day. National Education Day is observed on 11th November to celebrate the birth anniversary of India’s first education minister and vice-president Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The day is recognized to honour the immense contribution Azad made to the development of the nation’s education system. To commemorate Maulana Azad’s enormous contributions to Indian education, Department of Education celebrated National Education day with great zeal.A nation’s backbone is its education system. Education enhances nation-building in addition to encouraging the development of the future generations. In recent years, there have been significant changes in the field of education. The coordinator of the event Ms. Renu Malhotra, Department of Education welcomed all the participants and instructed them for debate competition. She also briefed about the importance of National Education Day.In her speech she remembered the first education minister and their contribution to the field of education. Further, she also highlighted the change in the education system especially National Education Policy 2020. She congratulated all the students for their active participation in the competition and also encouraged the students for making their best efforts to participate in such kind of competitions. She further added to it by saying that participating in such kind of competitions not only give knowledge to students but also enhance their personality and make them confident. She congratulated the coordinator and the organising committee for organizing such kind of event in the college. Students of the College enthusiastically participated in the competition. The first position was secured by Taniya Jamwal of BA Sem I, Second position was secured by Shruti Jamwal of BA Sem-Iand third position was secured by Asma Bibi of BA Sem-I.The whole program was organized by Prof. Renuka Kundal and Ms. Disha Arti. The competition was adjucated by Dr. Bandana Khajuria and Ms. Sonia. Certificates were awarded to all the participants and winners of the competition.
