One Day Workshop On The Solid Waste Management

ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AT GOVT. DEGREE COLEEGE VIJAYPUR Eco club (Green Warriors) and Department of Environmental Sciences of GDC Vijaypur organised one day workshop on the solid waste management. The programme was initiated with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Ecoclub and Head, Department of Environmental Sciences) where she briefed the students about the said workshop and explained various methods of collection and segregation of different types of solid waste. Students of the college actively participated in the workshop with full enthusiasm. They collected different categories of solid waste from various areas of the college and then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Principal of the college, Dr. Vandana Gupta appreciated the efforts of the organizers and students for their active participation in the workshop where they learned how to deal with different types of solid waste generated in any institutional area. She further said that the theme of the workshop is very relevant in the present scenario as the problem of waste management is increasing day by day. She further appreciated the efforts of all the students for their positive approach to conserve our environment.The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan and co-coordinated by Prof. Anil Bhagat, Prof. Renuka Kundal and Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo.
