Road Safety Club Of GDC Vijaypur Organizes Pledge Taking Ceremony To Promote Road Safety Awareness

In a significant step towards promoting road safety awareness among students and the community, the Road Safety Club of Government Degree College Vijaypur organized a Pledge taking Ceremony today. The event, which aimed to encourage responsible driving and safe road practices, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty. The ceremony commenced with an welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener Road Safety Club) who emphasized the importance of road safety in reducing accidents and saving lives. She further said that a small step like taking the pledge can make a big difference in shaping responsible road users. The highlight of the event was the collective pledge taking, where participants vowed to adhere to traffic rules, avoid rash driving, and take active measures to promote road safety in their surroundings. The pledge also included a commitment to spreading awareness about the risks of drunk driving, not using mobile phones while driving, and wearing helmets and seat belts. Principal of the college Dr. Vandana Verma shared valuable insights on how students can contribute to reducing road accidents and ensuring safer roads for everyone. The event was carried out with full support of the senior faculty members Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science) and Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology) and Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education). It was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener Road Safety Club) and co-coordinated by Dr. Naseem Choudhary (NSS PO), Dr. Manoj Heer and Prof. Meetu Sharma.
