ROAD SAFETY CLUB OF GDC VIJAYPUR ORGANISED SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION ON THE THEME “BE A ROAD SAFETY HERO”

The Road Safety Club of Government Degree College Vijaypur in colaboration with Department of Environmental Sciences organised slogan writing competition centered around the theme "Be a Road Safety Hero." The event aimed to raise awareness about road safety and encourage students to actively participate in promoting safe practices on the roads. Prof. Poonam Kundan, the Convener of the Road Safety Club and Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, extended a warm welcome to all participants. In her speech, she shared her insights on the significance of the theme. She further said that through this competition, we aim to not only engage students creativity but also instill in them the importance of being ambassadors of road safety in their communities. Nearly 20 Students showcased their creativity and understanding of road safety through compelling slogans, reflecting their commitment to becoming road safety heroes. The event fostered a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration, with participants exchanging ideas and learning from one another. First position was achieved by Saharsh Dev Singh of B.Sc. Semester I and Second position was shared by Smriti Sharma of BA Semester II and Vishal Sharma of B.Sc. Semester IV and third position was shared by Ranjit Kour of B.Sc. Semester IV and Palak Panotra of BA Semester IV. Competition was adjudged by Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), Dr. Anoop Bhagat (HOD Sociology) and Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education). Principal of the college, Dr. Vandana Verma, emphasized on the vital role of youth in shaping a culture of road safety. In her address, she highlighted the importance of every individual's responsibility in ensuring safety on the roads and further said that we must cultivate a sense of responsibility among our youth to be vigilant and proactive.rs. The program was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary and Co-coordinated by Prof. Meetu Sharma, Dr. Priyanka Ganjoo and Dr. Radhika Rasyal. Certificates were awarded to winners and all the participants.
