Geography Department Of GDC Vijaypur Celebrates National Geographic Day With Slogan Writing And Poster Making Event

The Geography Department of Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur marked National Geographic Day with slogan writing and poster making under the theme “Support for Conservation and Sustainability”, which was held under the able guidance of the Principal Dr. Vandana Verma. Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography) coordinated the event and expressed her pleasure in seeing the students' active involvement and creativity. "This event not only allowed the students to explore geographical themes but also helped them express their knowledge in innovative ways," she said. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the 4th-semester students, who showcased their creativity and understanding of geographical concepts through their slogans and posters. The occasion was further graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education), Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English), and who served as judges for the event. Prof. Madhu Bala co-coordinated the event. Adarsh Sharma of B.Sc. Sem IV secured the first position. Vishali Sharma and Ranjit Kour, both students of B.Sc. Sem IV secured the 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Raman Kumar and Saharsh Dev Singh, students of B.Sc. Sem IV, received Consolation Prizes for their remarkable contributions. Certificates were given to all the participants. The Geography Department looks forward to continuing to celebrate National Geographic Day in future years with even more engagement and participation from students.
