Red Ribbon Club Of Govt. Degere College Vijaypur Organises Red Run For HIV-AIDS Awareness

In a spirited effort to raise awareness about HIV-AIDS and promote healthy lifestyles, Red Ribbon Club of Govt Degree College, Vijaypur in colaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society, Department of Health &Medical Education, J&K Govt. and Department and Higher Education Department, J&K organises Red Run for HIV/AIDS awareness. The initiative was aimed at educating the community, especially the youth, about the importance of prevention, early detection, and reducing the stigma associated with HIV-AIDS. The event commenced with welcome address delivered by Prof. Poonam Kundan, the Convener of the Red Ribbon Club. In her address, she emphasized the club's commitment to spreading awareness and creating a supportive environment for those affected by the disease. The 'Red Run' witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who came together to run in support of this noble cause. Nearly 80 Volunteers of the college actively participated in the Red Run. Dr. Vandana Verma, the Principal of the college, graced the event with her presence, extending her support and encouragement to all participants. In her address, Dr. Verma highlighted the importance of community involvement in raising awareness and fostering a culture of prevention and care. The Programme was organised with the active support of senior faculty members Prof. Mamta Gupta, Dr. Anoop Bhagat and Prof. Ritu Bhagat. The Programme was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener Red Ribbon Club) and co-coordinated by Dr. Naseem Choudhary, Dr. Jan Wani, Prof. Mazid Malik, Prof. Ragini Gupta, Dr. Anjana Raina, Prof. Manisha Rani, Prof. Pooja Devi and Dr. Radhika Rasyal. Refreshments were distributed among all the participants. The Red Run was a significant step forward in building a more informed and compassionate community. Through such initiatives, the Red Ribbon Club continues to inspire hope, promote awareness, and contribute meaningfully to the fight against HIV-AIDS.
