Government Degree College Vijaypur celebrated Independence Day As a part of the series of program being organized under the banner of ‘Independence Day Celebrations 2024’ the NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) and Cultural Committee of Government Degree College Vijaypur celebrated 77th Independence Day in the college campus today with great vigor and enthusiasm. Day two of the Independence Day Celebrations concluded with the hoisting of the National Flag and singing of the National Anthem. Medley of patriotic songs by the students and teachers of the college were echoing in the seminar hall of the college. The entire college was decorated with tricolour balloons, flags, craft work and tricolour sheets related to our mother land. During the event, Principal of the college Dr. Vandana Gupta addressed the staff and students, underscoring the importance of celebrating Independence Day as a tribute to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation’s freedom. She highlighted that it is a matter of great pride to live in a country where every citizen is equally valued. She encouraged the cadets to honor the legacy of the soldiers by showing unwavering respect for the nation and committing themselves to its welfare whenever called upon. The event successfully fostered a deep sense of national pride and unity among the students and staff, making it a memorable celebration of the nation’s 78th Independence Day. The event was organized with the full support and coordination of the senior faculty members of the college Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science) and Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce) andProf. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education). The event was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convenor Cultural Committee) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and co- coordinated by Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography).
