GDC Vijaypur Organises Group Discussion on Gandhi Ji’s Contribution to Indian Education Department of Education of Government Degree College Vijaypur in collaboration with National Service Scheme (KHIDMAT) organized a group discussion activity on the theme “Gandhi Ji’s Contribution to Indian Education” as a part of the series of activities being organized under Gandhi Jyanti Celebrations 2024 to create awareness among the young college students/citizens about Gandhi Ji’s scheme for primary education which includes the elementary principles of sanitation, hygiene, nutrition besides compulsory physical training through musical drill. The event started with the welcome address by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education). Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta briefed the students about the aim of organizing such an event because Gandhi Ji’s scheme for education would make students strong confident and useful to their parents and their country. Winners of the group discussion were awarded with certificate of appreciation which was decided by jury members of the competition namely, Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science), Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce) and Dr. Anoop Bhagat (HOD Sociology). The program received positive feedback from the students, who found it informative and engaging. Principal of the college, Prof. Dr. Vandana Gupta appreciated the efforts of the Department of Education and NSS in organizing such an informative and educative lecture and also for creating awareness about Gandhi Ji’s contribution towards Indian Education System. Proceedings of the event were carried out by Prof. Ritu Bhagat. The event was coordinated by Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education) and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and co-coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Science) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography).
