GDC Vijaypur organizes Essay Writing competition and Symposium to commemorate Vigilance Awareness Week NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur in collaboration with Cyber Jagrookta Cell of the college organized Essay-writing competition event on the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity” to celebrate Vigilance Awareness Week 2024. The objective of organizing the events was to make students aware of corruption in different sectors/institutions and various means to eradicate it. NSS volunteers and other college students participated in the event enthusiastically with great fervor and zeal. The main aim of the celebrations perils of corruption inculcating the true spirit of participative vigilance and re-affirming the commitment of everyone to uphold integrity in public governance, with special emphasis on engaging the college youth-the future of India, in various ‘Anti-Corruption’ slogans emphasizing the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 is observed in the college to commemorate the birth anniversary of sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In the essay writing competition Krish Gupta of B.Com. sem. V secured Ist position while Shariya Sharma of B.Com. sem. V bagged second position and Tanvi Saini and Shriya Langeh both of B.Com. sem. V shared third position. While speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta articulated that corruption occurs when an entrusted entity abuses its position of power for its own benefit and it comes in many forms including bribes, double-dealing, frauds by individuals etc. A general distinction, she said, has to be drawn between preventive measure and reactive measure to curb corruption. She further said that transparent and accountable public dealing can minimize the risk of corruption and hence act as anti-corruption measures. The events were coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan, Co-Convenor Cyber Jagrookta Committee and Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, NSS PO and co-coordinated by Dr. Radhika Rasyal, Lecturer, Department of History and Prof. Madhu Bala, Lecturer, Department of Geography.
