GDC Vijaypur Celebrates India’s First National Space Day with Inspiring Documentary Screening Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur marked India’s inaugural National Space Day today with a thought-provoking documentary screening, reflecting the institution’s commitment to fostering a greater understanding of space science among its students and faculty. The event, organized by Prof. Poonam Kundan, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, featured a documentary that delved into India’s remarkable achievements in space exploration. The screening was attended by Dr. Vandana Verma, Principal of GDC Vijaypur, along with faculty members from various departments. Dr. Vandana Verma, who spoke at the event, highlighted the significance of National Space Day in recognizing and celebrating India’s contributions to space science. “Today’s documentary provided a profound glimpse into our country’s advancements in space technology and exploration. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our scientists and engineers, and it serves as an inspiration to all of us,” she said. Prof. Poonam Kundan, who coordinated the event, expressed her enthusiasm for the celebration. “The documentary was an excellent way for our students to engage with and appreciate the strides India has made in space science. It was crucial to have this event as part of our educational efforts to promote awareness about the importance of space research,” Prof. Kundan noted. The documentary covered various aspects of India’s space missions, including the historic Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan missions, and showcased the technological and scientific advancements that have positioned India as a key player in global space exploration. The event underscored GDC Vijaypur’s commitment to integrating scientific awareness into the academic environment and providing opportunities for its academic community to engage with significant national and global achievements. The screening was followed by a question answer session. The Programme was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography) and co-cordinated by Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Sciences), Prof. Mamta Bhagat (HOD Commerce), Prof. Anoop Bhagat (HOD Sociology), Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education), Dr. Manoj Heer ( HOD Dogri)
