Govt. Degree College Vijaypur Organizes Quiz Competition On The Theme “India As An Independent Nation”

NSS unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur organized a quiz competition on the theme “India as an Independent nation” under the aegis of Meri Mati Mera Desh, Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsay, G 20 and Shikshit Bharat in the college campus for spreading awareness among the students and NSS volunteers of the college about the importance of Indian Independence-Day and struggle of Independence. The quiz was organized to inculcate a sense of duty i.e. ‘Nation First’ among the students. Students and NSS volunteers participated in the competition with great enthusiasm and national fervor. The quiz was conducted by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, NSS PO under the supervision of the Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Gupta. While speaking on the occasion, she emphasized that our country’s diversity is our strength because our freedom struggle is a witness to it as many of our heroes were from different culture, religion and regions. She further added that together we can achieve great things like our martyrs fought together for Indian freedom. She further stated that we must celebrate this year’s Independence Day with kindness and friendship by making our country a better place to live in. Three teams of different semesters participated in the quiz competition namely Team-A comprising of B.Com. Sem-III, Team-B comprising of B.A. Sem-III and Team-C of students of B.A. Sem-V. Dr. Shittal Sharma along with Prof. Poonam Kundan as scorer of the competition conducted the quiz in an interactive way by involving the audience as well. The participants skillfully answered the questions asked. Though some of the questions were very tricky, the teams tried to answer them with confidence. The questions put forth to the teams were intriguing and exciting with the team members answering them with confidence. Refreshment was also distributed to the participants of the quiz.
